The Badness

The Badness

Even if the soul didn’t enter the body
Until you were 21,
It would still be wrong to destroy
The body it was designed to enter,

In fact it violates a basic Sikh tenet –
Leave the body as GOD made it,

I don’t really want to be bad
For you to love me,

I prefer good,
I’d rather love you in the good,
It would be great if we could do that,
But if it means losing you,
I’ll give bad a try,
I just worry
I might not be good enough
At bad, but in so saying,

The badness makes the good shine brighter,
The weakness makes the strength grow strong,
The chasm makes the highs much higher,
The darkness helps the light rage on.
